I really only fell over you all by doing the Hallaway/Britt tree based round Brightling/Salehurst, and I find I have Funnells in there too, I'd hate to say this but you're all hooked up with the Stonestreets too. I have a William Funnell, b 1721 marrying a Mary Muddle out in Chalvington. We sure do get around, keep going!!

I am the son of Margaret Funnell (born in Canada) to Herbert Funnell born in Epson 1888.For a long time struggled to find anything prior to Herbert. Spent some time in Canada in 70`s , met quite a lot of the Funnels out there. have quite a few black and white pictures.

Like many others, I googled my (our) surname. I pronounce it like the pouring device btw. A relative who shall remain anonymous prefers 'funnelle' and has been nicknamed 'bucket' after the main character in the TV show 'Keeping up appearances.

My gg grandfather Charles emigrated from Sussex with wife Mary and children Charles and John in 1873 for NZ. I have tree if anyone interested. I am keen to track down Charles's first family.. he married Emma (Carnott??) about 1850 in Maresfield, Sussex and they had 3 sons before she died in 1867. Sons were Alfred (1855) John Charles (1857) and Albert (1861). Alfred had son James Charles (1880-1954, Tunbridge). Keen to hear more about this family if anyone has more info or contacts. My mother and father, Margaret and Ian have lived in Bideford Devon for the last 35 years. Before that my Father lived in Croydon and his parents were called Stan and Grace. I have an Auntie in Christchurch NZ called Undine Cavanaugh.
