Settlement Orders concerning Funnells
Jan 26th, 2007 by Andy Funnell
The following constitute a non exhaustive list of settlement orders concerning Funnells. They are all extracts noted in ESRO by a professional researcher working on my behalf. We hope they will be useful to you if you wish to locate the original documents which may contain more information. Parish records may also contain further details.
Just as a reminder, settlement orders intervened when two parishes were in dispute over who should provide for a family or to settle issues relating to a family member such as placement as an apprentice.

Ah, well that’s the tricky bit. I’m afraid I don’t have copies of the documents myself. If you want one, you need either to go in person to East Sussex Records Office in Lewes or get someone to do it for you. With the location and reference listed above, the document should be quite easy to find and you can normally order a photocopy of it. ESRO will do this for if you are willing to pay the fee (look here). The site gives all necessary information for a visit.
