My g.g.g. grandmother Lucy Funnell who was born in Chiddingly, Sussex c.1814. IGI family search shows that she married my g.g.g. grandfather George Hickman on 8th April 1833 and I believe Lucy died before the 1851 census. I have established that Lucy's parents were John Funnell and Mary Harmer and have been able to trace the family back through IGI pedegree records and Rootsweb. Can anyone help with additional information about Lucy Funnell and her family?
IGI records have three entries for Lucy's marriage, George Hickman, George Hickmar and George Hickmer all married to Lucy Funnell in April 1833.
My g.g. grandfather Mark Hickman, born in Chiddingly Sussex in 22nd Oct 1840, was a retired Metropolitan policeman and his retirement records show his father as George Hickman and mother Lucy. His marriage certificate states his father to be George Hickman.
